Dear Lincoln School Community,
It was an exciting and festive week at Lincoln School as we finished out the calendar year and headed into the winter break. On Monday, we welcomed former Lincoln Lion and current Mississippi State University pitcher KC Hunt back to his elementary school for an interview for an upcoming episode of “The Lion’s Den.” KC talked with our 5th grade students about his experiences as a student, persevering through challenges throughout high school, working as part of a team, and most importantly following your dreams. Look for his interview on an upcoming episode of “The Lion’s Den.” The latest December episode can be found here. Today, we held our monthly Schoolwide Morning Meeting in the gym. It was wonderful to come together as a school community for one final time in 2022. The theme of our meeting was giving gifts that don’t cost anything - such as kind words, a card of encouragement or gratitude, and extra chores or assistance around the house. We also played a fun collaborative game called “Catch My Clap.” Ask your child if they enjoyed today’s morning meeting!
As 2022 winds to a close and we prepare for the excitement of the holidays, I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to each member of the Lincoln community for your commitment and support throughout the year. On behalf of Lincoln School, I wish you a joyous and peaceful holiday, and hope that you have a chance to reflect on all the wonderful things in life as you gather with family and friends. To those celebrating, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a continued Happy Hanukkah, and I look forward to all that 2023 has in store for the families of Lincoln School.
As a reminder, all District schools are closed for the New Year’s Day holiday on Monday, January 2, 2023. Lincoln School will reopen on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
