Lincoln Logo

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It was a very Happy Halloween this past Monday at Lincoln School! Thank you to all who joined us for the annual parade and enjoyed the wonderful Fall weather. Students and staff were decked out in creative costumes for the occasion, including the faculty dressing up in a dog/animal theme and donating funds to the Seeing Eye Organization.  Thank you to our class parent volunteers for assisting with classroom activities.

We had an amazing visit yesterday from acclaimed author Sarah Weeks! Sarah talked about the inspiration for her characters as well as her writing process. Students and staff alike were enthralled. Thank you PTO for supporting the visit and Mrs. Husstege for coordinating the day.

Our 4th and 5th graders were treated to a visit from the Ramapo High School Marching Band this past week.  The band shared their amazing talents with our students, and demonstrated the true value of perseverance, hard work, and teamwork.  It was terrific to see some of our former Lincoln Lions performing, and we hope to see many of our current students playing in the band in just a few short years!

The Wyckoff/Midland Park Rotary, as well as representatives from the Eisenhower Middle School React Club, met with our third grade students today, and gave each of them a dictionary of their own as part of their yearly dictionary drive. The Rotary and React reps shared their organization’s mission of service, and inspired students to go out and help in their own community.

Thank you to our parents and teachers for a successful first round of Parent/Teacher Conferences this week.  Communication between school and home is vital to each student’s success.  Conferences continue on November 16th, which will be a minimum day for all students.

Please note that schools will also be closed on Thursday, November 10th and Friday, November 11th for the NJEA Teachers Convention.

Have a wonderful weekend, and don’t forget to “fall back” the clocks on Sunday morning!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee
Principal
