Dear Parents/Guardians,

Schools throughout New Jersey recognized this past week as the “Week of Respect.” A variety of activities were completed by students throughout the week highlighting the themes of respect, empathy, and kindness. Ms. Wiebe, our school counselor, visited classrooms throughout the week to facilitate lessons centered around these important topics. In addition, we held our monthly schoolwide Morning Meeting in the gym this morning, and asked students to reflect upon how they might show someone else respect and kindness. Thank you to Ms. Wiebe for coordinating this important and meaningful week!

At Lincoln School on Thursday morning, many students and parents participated in the annual “Walk and Bike to School Day.”  It was a great way to share with the community while showing the importance of exercise and fitness. Healthy snacks for the kids were provided, and we raffled off several Lincoln Lions. Thank you to our parent volunteers for coordinating and running this event.

The Lincoln PTO is sponsoring an “Outdoor Movie Night” tonight, Friday, October 7th!  We hope to see our entire Lincoln community on the field for a showing of “Minions: The Rise of Gru.” This event, free of charge, will be a great kickoff to the year and an opportunity for families to come together for a fun night out. The “doors open” at 6:30, with a 7:00 start time. Bring flashlights and blankets or lawn chairs, and propcorn and water will be served. Please note that the playgrounds will be off-limits during the movie, for safety reasons, and that this is not a drop-off event. Click here for a flyer for more details.

Our first Professional Development Minimum Day is on Monday, October 10th.  All students will be dismissed at 1:05 pm.  Kindergarten parents, please be sure to send a snack and lunch to your child on all minimum days.  We do not have lunch service from outside vendors on minimum days.

For planning purposes, our Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on November 2nd and November 16th from 1:45 pm to 8 pm. More information and details to follow.

Have a wonderful weekend!
