Dear Parents/Guardians,

This week, our teachers excitedly returned to Lincoln School to prepare for the opening of school on Tuesday, September 6th!  We enjoyed meeting many of our Kindergarten students and families at our Kindergarten Orientation, as well as our new students and families at our Buddy Lunch.  It was wonderful to hear the voices of children once again filling the halls of Lincoln!  Thank you to our Kindergarten teachers, and Ms. Wiebe, for coordinating these special events.  Staff was engaged in a variety of meetings and professional development throughout the week, and also enjoyed reconnecting as a faculty and beginning the journey of a new year together. I’m proud of all their hard work and preparation for what I know will be an excellent school year.

As you know, the first day for students is on Tuesday, September 6th.  This is a minimum day, with a 1:05 pm dismissal.   Please note some important information and reminders below:

School Hours

Regular Day:  8:50 am - 3:20 pm

Minimum Day:  8:50 am - 1:05 pm (No lunch grades 1-5.  Kindergarten students should bring lunch on minimum days.  There are no PTO lunches on minimum days.)

Delayed Opening Day:  10:20 am - 3:20 pm (Lunch served for all students grades K-5.)

Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

Supervision for students begins at 8:35 am.  Please do not drop your student off prior to 8:35 am.  Students may be dropped off using the drop-off line adjacent to the school, or students may walk to their lineup spot.  Lineup will be outdoors, except in the case of inclement weather.  Kindergarten students will lineup on the K blacktop, grades 3 and 4 will lineup outside the first entrance along the back driveway (outside the grade 3/4 classrooms), grade 5 will lineup on the blacktop by the back basketball hoops, and grades 1 and 2 will lineup outside the primary wing entrance adjacent to the path towards Rodney Road. Students will be dismissed at 3:20 pm, out the same door they enter through in the morning.

Lunch/Recess

Students will eat lunch in the multipurpose room.  Nicholas Markets will return as a lunch vendor, and our PTO will offer Wednesday Pizza Lunch from Pizza Love as well as bagels from Midland Park Bagels on Mondays (Nicholas Market will also serve on this day).  Information will be sent from our PTO and in our e-blasts about these two programs, which will begin shortly after the start of the year.

If you have not accessed your child’s homeroom teacher and important forms via Genesis, please access the Parent Portal by clicking here.  Contact the Genesis Helpdesk at genesis@wyckoffps.org with any difficulties.

Finally, I am excited to begin another wonderful year at Lincoln School, and honored to serve as Principal. The school building is cleaned and gleaming, the classrooms are organized and prepared, and staff is energized and ready to welcome back our Lincoln Lions! I look forward to working with each of you in a shared goal of providing the best learning experience for our students, as we truly are “Better Together.”

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend, and I look forward to seeing our Lincoln Lions on Tuesday morning!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee
Principal
