Lincoln Logo

Dear Lincoln School Community,

Scientific exploration and experimentation was on full display this past Wednesday at our Grades 3-5 Science Fair! It was a wonderful evening of learning, and such a fun celebration of the creativity and talents of our students. Thank you to Mrs. Joudeh for organizing this year's event. We already can't wait for next year!

Thank you to all of the Lincoln artists who joined us this evening for “Family Art Night,” hosted by Mrs. Linz! Students and their families had a blast making prints using a printing roller, and sharing their artistic talents and creativity. Keep up the great work, artists!

Please note that our Kindergarten Sibling Preview, for the siblings of all current Lincoln students who are registered to attend Kindergarten during the 2023-2024 school year, will be held on the morning of Friday, May 19th.  A letter will be sent home early next week with the exact times assigned.

On Tuesday, May 9th, Eisenhower Middle School will host a parent presentation by Jack Berckemeyer - author, speaker, and humorist. Mr. Berckmeyer will be speaking on the topic of “Understanding Adolescents.”  Please click here to view the flyer.

A number of our staff members shared their children with our community on “Take Your Child to Work Day” this past Thursday. It was wonderful to see the children of our staff joining in the learning experiences here at school, and our students being so welcoming to our special guests. It is another example of what makes Lincoln School a true family. In addition, I would like to wish Mrs. DiMeglio and Mrs. Garofalo a Happy Administrative Assistant’s Day, which was celebrated this past Wednesday. Thank you to both of them for all they do to keep Lincoln up and running, and making it a wonderful place to work and learn. They are truly appreciated!

Finally, please note that at the most recent Board of Education meeting, the Board revised the student calendar due to the two unused snow days. As a result, the last day of school for students will now be on Tuesday, June 20th. This will be a minimum day for students. The 5th Grade Farewell and 5th Grade Clapout will also now be held on Tuesday, June 20th. Any other adjustments to events in the final week of school will be communicated shortly.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee
Principal

LINCOLN’S COMMUNITY PEACE GARDEN’S SPRING PLANTING AND CREATE A POT EVENT

The Lincoln Community Peace Garden’s 5th Annual “Spring Planting” is scheduled for Friday, 5/5/23.

The GO GREEN TEAM needs your help! Please consider joining us after school from 3:20-4:00. There is a planter box for each grade plus one for the Lincoln staff too. We will be planting our vegetables and it would be so nice for you to join us with your children. We’re hoping to have representation from all grade levels plus a few teachers as well to assist with the plantings. Please bring a trowel and gloves with you.

We will be also hosting a “Create a Pot” event on the kindergarten black top and we are asking if the children can bring a cleaned recycled container (yogurt cup, metal can, etc.) in which they decorate it, fill it with dirt and put a flower and take it home with them.

Look out for our Sign up Genius to help us water over the summer. 🌎💦

Please reach out to Dee Bouloukos deebouloukos@aol.com with any questions. Thank you for supporting the GO GREEN team!!
