Dear Lincoln School Community,

This Thursday, we welcomed author Sarah Weeks to Lincoln School for her second visit of the school year! Sarah worked with students in grades 3-5 in special “Writer’s Workshops,” where she guided them through the process she undertakes as an author, and engaged them in a number of writing exercises. Thank you to Mrs. Husstege for helping to coordinate the day, and the PTO for supporting her return. This was a terrific experience for our older students, and a key part of our “Lincoln Loves Literacy” month celebrating reading! Sarah also did an interview with our 5th graders for an upcoming episode of The Lion’s Den. For the most recent episode which just dropped, featuring an interview with NFL Hall of Famer and NY Giant great Harry Carson, please click here, and enjoy!

I invite you to join us on Thursday, March 30th, from 4:30-6:00 pm for our annual “Lincoln School Makerspace Family Night.” This event is being presented as part of the Wyckoff Connected Parent Series, and will be held in our Multi-Purpose Room. You will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of high-tech and low-tech “maker” activities that highlight problem solving, coding, designing, and the engineering process. Click here for more information about the Wyckoff Connected Parent series. We look forward to seeing you on March 30th at our Family Makerspace Night!

Report cards for the second marking period are available for viewing on Genesis today, March 24th, at the end of the school day. If you have any difficulty accessing the portal, please email our Genesis help desk at genesis@wyckoffps.org.

I ask for your support in being mindful of the start time for the school day. In the past few weeks, I’ve noticed an increase in students being tardy for school, which begins at 8:50 am. I thank you in advance for your cooperation. As a parent myself, I know it can be difficult at times to get the children up and ready for school; however, it is important for them to start the day on time for Morning Meeting with their classmates, which sets the tone for the school day. If you need any support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or your child’s teacher. Thank you again for your support!

Finally, I extend my best wishes for a peaceful Ramadan to those members of our community who are observing this month. Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee
Principal
