Lincoln Logo

Dear Lincoln School Community,

Scooter Bowl XXIX is in the books! In a well-played contest today with each player demonstrating his or her personal best and playing with sportsmanship, the Giants were victorious over the Eagles by a score of 57-28 in the intramural Scooter Football Championship. Thank you to our refs Mr. Patanella and Mr. White, our cheerleaders, our Lions, our student line judges, Grand Marshall Josie, and our faculty and staff that helped make this event possible, including Mrs. Pocius, Mrs. Provost, Mrs. Husstege, Mrs. Panzitta, Ms. Miller, Ms. Linz and Ms. Canales. Finally, thank you to the Lincoln PTO for providing the staff with Scooter Bowl XXIV t-shirts! This great tradition highlighted the wonderful school spirit and community that exists at Lincoln School! Go Lions!

"Read Across America Week," a nationally designated week devoted to a celebration of reading, begins on Monday, February 27th. Thank you to our media specialist, Mrs. Husstege, for planning a fun and engaging week. Please click here to view the flyer which includes dress-up days and get ready to read! The week kicks off on February 27th with a schoolwide morning meeting and hallways read together. Bring a favorite book, or two or three, to read!

In addition to "Read Across America Week," Lincoln School is going to extend our love of literacy throughout the month of March! We have exciting events planned, including interactive activities, whole-school book reads, book giveaways, and more, culminating with visits from meteorologist and author Dylan Dreyer, as well as a return visit from award-winning author Sarah Weeks! Please note that the deadline to order the Dylan Dreyer books is Tuesday, February 28th. Please see the Friday Folder for the order forms. We are grateful to have such a wonderful staff and generous PTO to support these events with their time and resources.

Please be sure to check out the brochure in the Friday Folder for the "Wyckoff Connected Parent Series 2023" offerings. There are a number of workshops and events for parents throughout the remainder of the school year. Included on the schedule is an upcoming workshop for Grades 3-5 parents entitled "Fostering Literacy at Home," hosted by Lincoln School Instructional Coach, Mrs. Velez, and Reading Specialist, Mrs. Barbieri. This workshop is scheduled for March 2nd. Register by clicking here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050c4eaaad2ba1f85-connected1#/

Finally, please note that all District schools will be closed next week for February break beginning on Monday, February 20th. Schools will reopen on Monday, February 27th

Thank you as always for your support of Lincoln School! Enjoy the break!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee
Principal
