Dear Parents/Guardians,
We had a wonderful afternoon today as our PTO hosted the annual “Fall Festival” after school on the Lincoln fields! It was a great opportunity to come together as a community for fall-themed games, activities, snacks, an amazing pumpkin raffle, a petting zoo, and most importantly lots of fun. Thank you to our Fall Festival chairs, Mrs. Tenderenda and Mrs. Turland, our Pumpkin Raffle chairs, Mrs. Ely and Mrs. Hade, as well as the countless PTO and middle school volunteers that supported the event, ran the games and activities, and helped to make the Fall Festival possible. It was a memorable event for the Lincoln School community!
Thank you to Sgt. Zivkovich from the Wyckoff Police Department for visiting Lincoln School this past week to interact with our students at recess and lunch, as part of the NJ School Violence and Vandalism Awareness Week. We truly value and appreciate our public servants in Wyckoff, and thank them for keeping our community safe.
Please note that the Lincoln School photo retake date will be on Thursday, October 29th. Photo retakes will take place at 10:30 am. The photographer will retake pictures of those students who were absent on the original School Photo Day, or by specific parent request. Please email Mrs. DiMeglio at mdimeglio@wyckoffschools.org if your child will be taking a photo retake by Wednesday, October 28th.
As you know, next Saturday is Halloween! The Lincoln School Halloween parade is scheduled for Friday, October 30th, at 2:30 pm. Parts of the costume that can be safely worn, and allow students to engage in learning, participate in recess/PE, and use the restroom, may be worn to school in the morning. Other costume attachments and accessories, or costumes that cannot be easily and comfortably worn throughout the day, should be brought in a bag and students may change prior to the parade. Please be mindful of appropriate and safe costumes, and note that toy guns, knives, weapons, etc., are not permitted. Parents are asked not to wear costumes or masks that conceal their faces. Please allow plenty of time to park safely and arrive in time for the event. If you are a parent that is volunteering during a class event, please be sure to sign in at the front office and wear a badge when in the building. We hope you can join us for this fun tradition here at Lincoln School.
You should have received an email from your child’s classroom teacher to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences on November 9th and 16th. If you have not received an email, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher. A link to sign up for special area teacher conferences will be sent shortly
Finally, score reports for the 2025-2026 New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) were mailed out today to all students who were in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade last school year. Please be sure to review the letter that accompanied this mailing, which will explain the score report as well as provide guidance for parents on its interpretation.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Patrick Lee
Principal
