Lincoln Logo

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Lincoln PTO is sponsoring a “Lincoln Family Movie Night” tonight, a showing of the film Madagascar! The movie will be held in the gymnasium. This event, free of charge, will be a great kickoff to the year and an opportunity for families to come together for a fun night out. The “doors open” at 6:30 pm, with a 7:00 pm start time.  Bring your own blankets if you’d like, and popcorn will be served. Families are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles and no mess snacks (light nut-free snacks that will not cause staining of the gym floor). This event is free for Lincoln students and their families! Please note that this is not a drop-off event. Click here for a flyer for more details.

Next week, Lincoln School joins with schools throughout the state of New Jersey in recognizing the annual “Week of Respect.” Special lessons, activities, and dress-up days will help spotlight the themes of empathy, kindness, and respect. Please click here for a flyer with the dress-up days for next week.

Please note that the Lincoln School Halloween parade will be held on Friday, October 30th, at 2:30 pm. Parts of the costume that can be safely worn, and allow students to engage in learning, participate in recess/PE, and use the restroom, may be worn to school in the morning. Other costume attachments and accessories, or costumes that cannot be easily and comfortably worn throughout the day, should be brought in a bag and students may change prior to the parade. Please be mindful of appropriate and safe costumes, and note that toy guns, knives, weapons, etc., are not permitted. We hope you can join us for this fun tradition here at Lincoln School!

Looking ahead, please be advised that Monday, October 12th, is a minimum day for all students.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee

Principal

iREADY INFORM ASSESSMENTS:

Students in grades 1-5 recently completed the first round of iReady Inform (formerly known as “Diagnostic”) assessments. These assessments are given three times a year to students in Grades K-5. Grade K will take the Mathematics assessment three times, and the Reading assessment two times. The Grade K Math assessment will be administered at some point in the next several weeks. This assessment is just one piece of information to guide us as educators, and you as parents, regarding student and school progress. Instructions on accessing the data may be found here.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS AT RAMAPO:

Please see the following information from Ramapo High School:

We are excited for another great night under the lights at Ramapo High School this Friday! We welcome our younger students to come out, support the Raiders, and enjoy the game.

Football nights bring large crowds, and we have had concerns about younger students running around campus and gathering in areas with limited supervision. To help keep the evening safe and enjoyable for everyone, please observe the following expectations for students in grade 8 or below who are not participating in the FLOW Recreation Event:

  • A parent, guardian, or responsible adult or older should accompany the student and remain at the game for its entire duration.

  • Students should not be dropped off and left unsupervised on school grounds before, during, or after the game.

  • Students must remain with their accompanying adult or in the designated student cheering area shown in the attached photo. The accompanying adult remains responsible for their supervision throughout the evening.

Students who are found engaging in unsafe or disruptive behavior on campus, or repeatedly leaving designated spectator areas, will be removed from the field/stadium area and required to contact a parent or guardian for pickup.

We want our younger Raiders cheering, having fun, and feeling part of the Ramapo community. Your support helps ensure they can do so safely and appropriately.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping make game night a great experience for everyone.  Please see the photo of the sitting area below.  Go Po!
