Dear Parents/Guardians,
Today, we held our first Schoolwide Morning Meeting in the Lincoln gymnasium. We welcomed our new Lincoln Lions, shared our Hopes & Dreams for the year, and played a game of "Just Like Me." We also highlighted our Core Value for the month: Community. It was a great way to start the day!
Thank you to all of our parents who attended our annual “Back to School Night” this past Tuesday night! I hope that the evening gave you an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher(s) and learn more about the terrific work we are doing here at Lincoln School. We truly value the home-school connection, and look forward to a wonderful year of collaboration.
Tuesday September 22nd, is School Photo Day at Lincoln. We look forward to seeing all of our students looking their best and smiling for the camera! Please click here to view the flyer from Rod Bolten Photography. Please see the schedule for Photo Day. Please note that if the weather forecast calls for rain, we may elect to utilize our rain date (which would be Wednesday, September 23rd). I will notify parents on Monday, September 21st, if this is the case.
The Lincoln PTO is sponsoring a “Lincoln Family Movie Night” on Friday, October 2nd, with a showing of the film Madagascar! The movie will be held in the gymnasium. This event, free of charge, will be a great kickoff to the year and an opportunity for families to come together for a fun night out. The “doors open” at 6:30, with a 7:00 start time. Bring your own beach blankets if you’d like, and popcorn will be served. Families are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles and no mess snacks (light nut free snacks that will not cause staining of the gym floor). This event is free for Lincoln students and their families! Please note that this is not a drop-off event. Click here for a flyer for more details.
As a reminder, dogs and other pet animals are not permitted on school property in accordance with District Policy 7490. This is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students and property. Please ensure that dogs are not brought to the campus, particularly during school hours or at dropoff or pickup. Thank you in advance for your cooperation, it is greatly appreciated.
September is recognized as NJ School Attendance Month. As you know, punctual and regular school attendance is a critical factor in predicting student success, and is crucial to students remaining on track with their academic growth. Please make every effort to schedule flexible appointments, when possible, outside of school hours to allow for students to be in school and engaging in learning activities with their classmates. In addition, please note that students should be in classrooms by 8:50 in order to be considered “on time.” We begin promptly at 8:50 am with Morning Meeting activities, and being on time allows students to acclimate into the school day and prepare for a busy day of learning. Thank you in advance for your support, and if you have any questions regarding attendance, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Our online "Friday Folder" is a depository of important notices, flyers, and letters from the school and Wyckoff community. Please be sure to check the list of Friday Folder documents, which is included in each weekly E-Blast, and carefully read those that are pertinent to you and your child(ren). There is a link in each E-Blast to the electronic Friday Folder, which can also be accessed at any time through the Lincoln School website. If you need hard copies of any document on the Friday Folder, do not hesitate to reach out to the front office and we will be happy to print them for you.
Finally, as a reminder, all Wyckoff schools will be closed on Monday, September 21st in observance of Yom Kippur. I extend my best wishes to all those observing the holiday.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Patrick Lee
Principal
