Dear Lincoln School Community,

I hope that this email finds you and your family well, and that you are enjoying the last days of a happy and healthy summer. It has been a busy summer at Lincoln School, and we are excitedly preparing for the return of our Lincoln Lions! Special thanks to our terrific custodial and maintenance departments for their hard work in cleaning and preparing our schools for our opening.

As our students and staff return, they will notice that our building has been adorned with several new colorful and creative painted designs by Yellow Door Art Studios. Thanks to the incredible support of the Lincoln School PTO, our students will now have an even more vibrant and engaging space to learn. I am excited for our students to see the new additions to our school!

As a reminder, the first day of school is on Tuesday, September 8th. Our typical school day is from 8:50 am until 3:20 pm, with supervision beginning at 8:35 am. The first day of school, however, will be a minimum day. Our minimum days begin at 8:50 am, with dismissal at 1:05 pm. Additional information and specifics regarding the opening of the school year, including drop-off and pickup procedures, will be provided to parents in a second E-blast newsletter prior to the first day of school on September 8th.

On Tuesday, September 1st, at 2 pm, we invite our incoming Kindergarten students and their parents to our annual "Kindergarten Orientation." Parents and students will meet on the Kindergarten blacktop to the right of the awning next to the main parking lot, where our teachers will greet our students and begin their year together as a class, spending some time in the classroom. I will meet with parents/guardians during the orientation, which should last approximately 45 minutes. The following day September 2nd at 12 pm, our new students in grades 1-5 are invited to our “New Student Buddy Pizza Lunch,” which will be held in our Multi-Purpose Room. Students, accompanied by a parent or guardian, may enter through the main entrance. I will also meet with our new parents during the lunch, which should last for approximately 45 minutes. Thank you to Mrs. Soriano, our School Counselor, for organizing a fun afternoon for our new students.

In addition to welcoming our new students, we are excited to welcome several new staff members to Wyckoff and Lincoln School this year. Mrs. Randi Andersen will join us in Wyckoff and become a member of the Lincoln School Special Education department. Mr. Sam Enright joins our Physical Education department and will work alongside Mr. White. Mr. Enright will deliver PE instruction to students throughout our elementary schools. We are also pleased to welcome several current District educators who will be working with Lincoln students this year. Mr. Robert LaMorte will join us in Technology, while Mr. Kyle Cosman will teach Instrumental Music alongside Mr. Vetrero. Mrs. Jenn Ascrizzi will work closely with Lincoln staff in her role as a K-8 Instructional Coach, and Mrs. Michele Velez will transition into the role of Math Interventionist. In addition to our teaching staff, several new instructional and lunch/recess aides will be joining the Lincoln School community, including Ms. Isabella Altadonna and Ms. Payton Sargenti. Please join me in welcoming all of our new Lincoln Lions—staff and students alike! We are excited to have you as part of our school community and look forward to a wonderful year together.

Please note that the Genesis parent portal will be open for parents to view homerooms after approximately 3:30 pm on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. All parents must log on and fill out the respective school form for each child prior to being able to see their child’s homeroom. The form must be completely filled out and submitted for ALL children prior to viewing any tabs on Genesis. One of the forms that must be selected is for either “escorted” or “unescorted” dismissal. Please note that traditional dismissal in which the teacher brings students outside to be dismissed is termed “unescorted.” “Escorted” dismissal requires the student to be dismissed from the main office, and signed out by a parent or guardian. If you have any questions regarding the dismissal selection, please reach out to the main office. Please be aware that if a mistake is made when filling out the form, it will need to be reset and information must be re-entered. New families will be receiving their Genesis parent portal logon information in a separate email from the IT department prior to the opening of the parent portal.

Please call the school before dropping them off to ensure that the building is accessible. Should you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Doidge via email.

Again this year, the Lincoln PTO will be using the “GroupSpot” app for all communication. If you haven’t done so already, please be sure to view the flyer here with information on setting up and accessing the app. If you do not already have an account, simply download the GroupSpot app, create an account, and use the following information to register:

School Group Name: Lincoln School PTO
Invite Code: jmtTV (for the app)
Invite Link: https://get.groupspot.app/jmtTV

Once you register, you will be prompted to pay the $25 annual PTO dues to access everything the PTO GroupSpot platform has to offer. The PTO asks that families register as soon as possible to remain enrolled in GroupSpot. On behalf of Lincoln School, thank you to our PTO for all of their tremendous support of our school and community!

Finally, as the summer draws to a close, I am reflecting on our theme for the upcoming school year: "Discover Your Path!" This theme reminds us that every student has a unique journey. Our job as educators is to help each child explore their interests, recognize their strengths, overcome challenges, and discover the possibilities ahead of them. By embracing our core values, our students have the power to "make it a great day" for themselves and our entire learning community. Please enjoy the remaining days of summer, and I will be in touch soon with additional information before our first day of school on September 8th!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee
Principal
