Dear Lincoln School Community,
It was an exciting week here at Lincoln School! Yesterday representatives from both the 4th and 5th grades squared off in our annual “Battle of the Books” competition! In a close and well-fought “Battle,” our 5th graders emerged victorious, with our 4th graders demonstrating a truly valiant effort. Both teams did an impressive job, correctly answering the vast majority of the equations. Congratulations to all participants, from team members to score keepers, and a huge thank you to Mrs. Husstege for her hard work in preparing students and coordinating the event. Great job readers!
Today, our students were treated to an outdoor lunch and ice pops, as a reward for meeting the “Month of Reading” challenge! Students enjoyed some extra time in the sunshine, capped off with a treat and an extended recess. It was a fun way to spend a Friday!
Our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders worked hard on the NJSLA assessment this past week. I am proud of each of them for trying their very best! Grade 5 students only will take the NJSLA Science assessment on Wednesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 21st. The assessments will begin at the very start of the day, so please try to ensure that your son or daughter is at school on time during testing.
Letters regarding our Kindergarten Preview for the siblings of current Lincoln students were mailed out last Friday. If you do not receive a letter by next week and your child is registered for September, please contact Mrs. DiMeglio at mdimeglio@wyckoffschools.org. I also ask that you kindly email Mrs. DiMeglio to confirm if your child will be attending the preview time to which they were assigned.
The spring “Bike and Walk to School Day” for all students and the annual “Bike Safety Rally” for grades 3 and 4 are both scheduled for Tuesday, May 26th. Please be sure that your child’s bicycle is in good working order and that they have a well fitting helmet. There will be a series of obstacle course stations for our 3rd and 4th graders in addition to a safety assembly for several Wyckoff Police Officers.
We look forward to seeing many of our 5th grade families at their production of the musical The Little Mermaid on Thursday, May 28th. The matinee for students will be held at 2:00 pm, and the evening show for families and guests will be held at 7:00 pm in the Lincoln School gymnasium. In addition, our 4th and 5th grade Spring Instrumental Band Concert will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd. Performances of the Spring Instrumental Band Concert will also be at 2:00 pm for students and 7:00 pm for guests. Please note that the 7 pm Instrumental Band Concert performance will be held at Eisenhower Middle School.
The Wyckoff School District is pleased to offer fee‑based Subscription Busing to Eisenhower Middle School for the 2026–27 school year for students who do not qualify for mandatory transportation.
