Dear Lincoln School Community,
This afternoon at Lincoln School, our 5th graders entertained a packed house of students, families, and friends in their annual 5th Grade Talent Show!” Kudos to our students for sharing their amazing talents with the audience, and for having the courage to perform in front of hundreds. The show featured everything from musical acts to displays of athleticism, and everything in between. A HUGE thank you to our staff advisors, Mrs. Giordano and Ms. Vincent, as well as our parent volunteers and other staff members, who worked so hard to put on the production and guide our students along the way. Great job to all who participated and assisted in the production!
Thank you also to all who donated a newly published book to our media center through our “Lincoln Library Lovers” program. This is a terrific way to provide a lasting donation to our school. We appreciate your support of our media center. Thank you also to our parent volunteers who assisted with our Masterpiece Art program over the past two weeks. The students thoroughly enjoyed the lessons on Salvador Dali.
It was an exciting week here at Lincoln School as we celebrated a love of reading with “Read Across America Week!” Students showed their schoolwide reading spirit by dressing in reading-themed attire all week. Thank you to Mrs. Husstege for coordinating Read Across America Week, and for celebrating in Media classes throughout the week.
In addition to Read Across America Week, we will be extending our focus on reading with a monthlong Lincoln Loves Reading celebration!. A schedule for the month, including suggested dates for chapter readings, may be found here. If your child and family would like to listen along to a Lincoln staff member read the chapters of Mr. Popper’s Penguins aloud, please click here to access the audio files. There are also select picture book videos from our staff included as well.
Finally, we once again have a Lincoln Loves Reading challenge for the month of March. Students and staff will try to collectively read the height of all of the Lincoln School ‘grownups,’ earning progress towards the goal for each book read. If we can conquer this challenge, I have agreed (with some creative student input) to work towards a fun schoolwide reward. Students will share their ideas for the reward in Media classes. Please click here to view the Lincoln Loves Reading Challenge 2026 form, and input books read for the challenge. For any students who would like to independently input their reading to our Lincoln challenge form, Mrs. Flanagan will share the link with students in grades 2-5 in their technology Google Classroom. I can’t wait to see which reward we choose, and if students can meet our schoolwide goal!
Have a great weekend and don’t forget to “spring ahead” by moving your clocks forward on Sunday!
Sincerely,
Patrick Lee
Principal

5TH GRADE FAMILIES:
Please see the message below from Mr. Faehndrich, Principal of Eisenhower Middle School:
5th Grade Families,
I know it is hard to believe, but it is time to complete Eisenhower Middle School's course selections for next school year. Please submit all requests via the Genesis Parent Portal under the "Scheduling" tab by the end of February. Ensure you read all instructions carefully and click the "Submit" button once your selections are finalized.
Below are the course selection details for your review:
Music
Students must complete a music course request to select their preferred instrument or vocal music option. Each student is required to provide a first and second choice. If your student currently plays an instrument, they should list that as their first choice.
Available options include:
- Brass Low (Trombone, Baritone, and Tuba)
- Brass High (Trumpets and French Horns)
- Clarinet
- Flute
- Percussion
- Saxophone
- Strings
- Vocal Music
Middle school music teachers will collaborate with elementary teachers to ensure students who currently play an instrument are placed in their preferred choice whenever possible.
World Language
Students must select a world language course from the following options, ranking them in order of preference (First Choice and Second Choice):
- Spanish
- Italian
While we strive to place students in their top choice, final placements will be based on availability.
If you encounter any issues, please contact genesis@wyckoffps.org.
