Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Lincoln PTO is sponsoring a “Lincoln Family Movie Night” tonight, a showing of the film Under the Boardwalk! The movie will be held in the gymnasium. This event, free of charge, will be a great kickoff to the year and an opportunity for families to come together for a fun night out. The “doors open” at 6:30 pm, with a 7:00 pm start time. Bring your own beach blanket if you’d like, and popcorn will be served. Families are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles and no-mess snacks (light nut free snacks that will not cause staining of the gym floor). This event is free for Lincoln students and their families! Please note that this is not a drop-off event. Click here for a flyer for more details. I look forward to seeing many of you tonight!

On Wednesday morning, many Lincoln School students and parents participated in the annual “Bike and Walk to School Day.” It was a great way to come together as a community while showing the importance of exercise and fitness. Healthy snacks for the kids were provided, and we raffled off several “Lincoln Lions”. Thank you to all of our parent volunteers for coordinating and running this event.

Next week, Lincoln School joins with schools throughout the state of New Jersey in recognizing the annual “Week of Respect.” Special lessons, activities, and dress-up days will help spotlight the themes of empathy, kindness, and respect. Please click here for a flyer with the dress-up days for next week.

Also occurring next week, the Fall Book Fair returns to Lincoln School! Students will have an opportunity to peruse and purchase titles from a variety of authors and illustrators. Please click here for the Book Fair schedule, which is also located in the Friday Folder section of the website.

Looking ahead to the end of the month, the Halloween parade will be held on Friday, October 31st, at 2:30 pm. Parts of the costume that can be safely worn, and allow students to engage in learning, participate in recess/PE, and use the restroom, may be worn to school in the morning. Other costume attachments and accessories, or costumes that cannot be easily and comfortably worn throughout the day, should be brought in a bag and students may change prior to the parade. Please be mindful of appropriate and safe costumes, and note that toy guns, knives, weapons, etc., are not permitted. We hope you can join us for this fun tradition here at Lincoln School! Also, please click here for a flyer form our Lincoln Girl Scout Troop regarding a Halloween Costume Drive.

Please note that Monday, October 13th, is a minimum day for all students

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee
Principal
