Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are off and running at Lincoln School, as we had a terrific first full week of instruction. I have been able to visit each classroom multiple times throughout the week, as well as spend time with students at lunch and recess. I am so pleased with our wonderful start to the year, and I am grateful for our hardworking staff, our supportive families, and our engaged students. Today, we held our first Schoolwide Morning Meeting in the Lincoln gymnasium. We welcomed our new Lincoln Lions, shared our Hopes & Dreams for the year, and played a game of "Just Like Me." We also highlighted our Core Value for the month: Community. It was a great way to start the day!
As a reminder, our annual Back to School Night has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 16th. We invite you to join us for our classroom visits, whole-school presentation, and a special area open house. Please see the schedule below, and note the times for our Gr. K-2 and 3-5 visits for this year:
6:30 pm - 7:10 pm Grades K-2 Classroom Presentations
Grades 3-5 Special Area Open House
7:15 pm - 7:45 pm Whole school presentation by Mr. Lee - Gymnasium
7:50 pm - 8:30 pm Grades 3-5 Classroom Presentations
Grades K-2 Special Area Open House
Thursday, September 25th, is School Photo Day at Lincoln. We look forward to seeing all of our students looking their best and smiling for the camera! A schedule for Photo Day and flyer from Rod Bolten Photography will follow in next week's e-blast.
Our district will again use an online payment method for school milk . Payment must be made using PaySchools Central, or by check. If you are not already registered for PaySchools Central, you may do so by logging on to www.payschoolscentral.com and selecting “Register” and following the prompts. Please note that you will need your child’s 6-digit Student ID#, which is located on the Parent Portal in Genesis next to your child’s picture. If you have difficulty logging on to the Genesis Parent Portal, please contact the Genesis Helpdesk at genesis@wyckoffps.org. We will also accept checks for payment that can be sent in through the school to the front office and made out to the Wyckoff Board of Education. Milk is offered to grades K-5 daily. You can purchase milk for the entire year. Milk options are 1%, skim, and chocolate. Please indicate your choice. Milk will begin Monday, September 15th. The total cost is: $110.00 for the school year. Fees may apply for credit card and checking account transactions. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Crank at 201-848-5720 X 2202, or jcrank@wyckoffschools.org.
Thank you to all those that attended our first PTO meeting on Thursday, September 11th. It was a great turnout, and we hope to see many of you at our next meeting, scheduled for October 16th. The connection between our families and the school is critical to our students’ success, and I am so grateful for the support and collaboration of our PTO. Please join us in October!
Please note that PTO Bagel Lunch will start on Monday, September 15th, Pizza Lunch will begin on Wednesday, September 17th, and Jersey Mike’s Lunch will start on Thursday, September 18th.
The Wyckoff Education Foundation is hosting their third annual “Color Run” on Saturday, September 27th at Eisenhower Middle School. Registration is now open, and flyers were sent home with your student last week. On site registration time is at 9:30 am, and the run begins at 11:00 am. The school with the greatest participation receives a $500 grant for new Physical Education equipment, so let's get as many Lincoln Lions in attendance as possible! I hope to see many of you there, where you can see me get “blasted” with color!
Our online "Friday Folder" is a depository of important notices, flyers, and letters from the school and Wyckoff community. Please be sure to check the list of Friday Folder documents, which is included in each weekly E-Blast, and carefully read those that are pertinent to you and your child(ren). There is a link in each E-Blast to the electronic Friday Folder, which can also be accessed at any time through the Lincoln School website. If you need hard copies of any document on the Friday Folder, do not hesitate to reach out to the front office and we will be happy to print them for you.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Patrick Lee
Principal
