Dear Lincoln School Community,
The Wyckoff/Midland Park Rotary, as well as representatives from the Eisenhower Middle School React Club, met with our third grade students this past Wednesday, and gave each of them a dictionary of their own as part of their yearly dictionary drive. The Rotary and React reps shared their organization’s mission of service, and inspired students to go out and help in their own community.
Thank you to our parents and teachers for a successful first round of Parent/Teacher Conferences this week. Communication between school and home is vital to each student’s success. Conferences continue on November 18th, which will be a minimum day for all students.
The Lincoln School Student Council will again be hosting the “Golden Pencil”' fundraiser during the week of November 25th to help purchase gifts for a needy child this holiday season, through the Social Service Association of Ridgewood and Vicinity. Please click here for more info!
Please note that Wednesday, November 27th is a minimum day, with a 1:05 dismissal. Kindergarten students will have lunch, as they do on all minimum days. Note that pizza will not be served this Wednesday, so please be sure to pack a lunch for your Kindergarteners.
As we head into the month of December, we have a number of wonderful upcoming events. Please note some of the important dates listed below, including the 1st and 2nd Grade Holiday Vocal Music Program, the Holiday Mall, and the Grades 4 & 5 Holiday Choral Concert.
Our 4th grade Girl Scout troop is doing an "Take Action Project” in order to earn a bronze award, one of the three highest Girl Scout awards. They are spearheading a 'no-plastic-utensils' week next Tuesday through Friday, with the goal of raising awareness about the amount of plastic that ends up in landfills and waterways. Students are invited to bring a spoon or fork from home to use during lunch next week. We will also have wooden utensils if students forget to bring one from home. Our Girl Scouts will be sharing the campaign with students during Morning Meeting on Monday. Thank you for helping to support this laudable cause - great job Girl Scouts!
As a reminder, Monday, November 18th is a minimum day (1:05 pm dismissal) and November 19th is a delayed opening (10:20 am start time).
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Patrick Lee
Principal
