Dear Lincoln School Community,
Yesterday, representatives from both the 4th and 5th grades squared off in our annual “Battle of the Books” competition! In a close and well-fought “Battle,” our 4th graders emerged victorious, with our 5th graders demonstration a truly valiant effort. Both teams did an impressive job, correctly answering the vast majority of the equations. Congratulations to all participants, from team members to score keepers, and a huge thank you to Mrs. Husstege for her hard work in preparing students and coordinating the event. Great job readers!
The week concluded the NJSLA testing for students in grades 3 through 5. I’m proud of each student for trying his/her personal best. Makeups will continue this coming week for students who were absent for any portion of the assessment. CogAT screening for 4th grade students, a brief online assessment as part of the Discovery program selection process, will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
Thank you to all who came out this afternoon to the Lincoln Community Peace Garden’s 6th Annual “Spring Planting.” We had a great turnout of students across different grade levels who planted a variety of vegetables and herbs, as well as painted rocks, to enhance our garden. Thank you to Mrs. Swanson, our PTO, and our parent volunteers for their tremendous work in getting the garden up and running.
There are two important notices in the Friday Folder for our current 5th grade students. First, a letter regarding required immunizations and health forms for rising Eisenhower Middle School 6th graders for the 2024-2025 school year. The second form is a waiver for the 6th grade trip to Fairview Lake YMCA Camp in the Fall.

Please note that the Art Show has a revised date of June 6, 2024 instead of Thursday, May 9th. The Show will be open from 6:00-8:00 pm. Please mark your calendars, we hope to see you there!
We look forward to seeing many of our families at the 5th grade’s production of the musical Aladdin on Thursday, May 23rd. The matinee for students will be held at 2:00 pm, and the evening show for families and guests will be held at 7:00 pm in the Lincoln School gymnasium. In addition, our 4th and 5th grade Spring Instrumental Band Concert will be held on Tuesday, June 4th. Performances of the Spring Instrumental Band Concert will also be at 2:00 pm for students and 7:00 pm for guests.s
Please note that there is no parking on Lucas Lane between the hours of 2 pm and 4 pm on school days. This is to not only allow for traffic to flow down Lucas Lane following dismissal, but also provide for increased visibility as students walk and ride from school. Please be sure to adhere to this and other parking signs posted in the surrounding neighborhoods. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Patrick Lee
Principal
