Dear Lincoln School Community,
This past week was designated as School Staff Appreciation Week. I would like to take a moment to acknowledge our wonderful teachers and staff for their tremendous work on behalf of the students of Lincoln School. I have the privilege of seeing firsthand their hard work, dedication, professionalism, and talent, and I am inspired by how much they care for and support our students. We are lucky to have such an amazing group of educators here at Lincoln School!
Thank you to our Lincoln PTO for hosting an unbelievable week of celebration for our staff! Between the amazing staff luncheon to the delicious treats in the faculty room to an incredible breakfast this morning, we were well taken care of this week! We are extremely grateful for the support of our PTO, parents, and families.
Our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders worked hard on the NSLA assessment this past week. I am proud of each of them for trying their very best! The assessment continues with Math on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. The assessment will begin at the very start of the day, so please try to ensure that your son or daughter is at school on time during testing.
There are two important notices in the Friday Folder for our current 5th grade students. First, a letter regarding required immunizations and health forms for rising Eisenhower Middle School 6th graders for the 2024-2025 school year. The second form is a waiver for the 6th grade trip to Fairview Lake YMCA Camp in the Fall.
Please note that the Art Show has a revised date of June 6, 2024 instead of Thursday, May 9th. The Show will be open from 6:00-8:00 pm. Please mark your calendars, we hope to see you there!
The spring “Bike and Walk to School Day” for all students and the annual “Bike Safety Rally” for grades 4 and 4 are both scheduled for Monday, May 13th. Please be sure that your child’s bicycle is in good working order and that they have a well fitting helmet. There will be a series of obstacle course stations for our 3rd and 4th graders in addition to a safety assembly for several Wyckoff Police Officers.
We look forward to seeing many of our families at the 5th grade’s production of the musical Aladdin on Thursday, May 23rd. The matinee for students will be held at 2:00 pm, and the evening show for families and guests will be held at 7:00 pm in the Lincoln School gymnasium. In addition, our 4th and 5th grade Spring Instrumental Band Concert will be held on Tuesday, June 4th. Performances of the Spring Instrumental Band Concert will also be at 2:00 pm for students and 7:00 pm for guests.
Please note that there is no parking on Lucas Lane between the hours of 2 pm and 4 pm on school days. This is to not only allow for traffic to flow down Lucas Lane following dismissal, but also provide for increased visibility as students walk and ride from school. Please be sure to adhere to this and other parking signs posted in the surrounding neighborhoods. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Finally, I would like to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms in the Lincoln School community. I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your special day!
Sincerely,
Patrick Lee
Principal
