Dear Lincoln School Community,

We had a wonderful afternoon today as our PTO hosted the annual “Fall Festival” after school on the Lincoln fields! It was a great opportunity to come together as a community for fall-themed games, activities, snacks, an amazing pumpkin raffle, a petting zoo, and most importantly lots of fun. Thank you to our Fall Festival chairs, Mrs. Fry and Mrs. McCloskey, as well as the countless PTO and middle school volunteers that supported the event, ran the games and activities, and helped to make the Fall Festival possible.

Our day began with our October Schoolwide Morning Meeting. We assembled in the gymnasium where we introduced our Student Council officers, who shared definitions and examples of our core values for October and November: Respect and Citizenship. We then raffled off Lincoln Lions to students nominated for demonstrating the core value of Respect during October. Finally, we ended with a fun collaborative game called “Catch My Clap.” Ask your student about today’s Schoolwide Morning Meeting, it was a fun way to start our Friday together!

As you know, next Tuesday is Halloween! The Lincoln School Halloween parade is scheduled for Tuesday, October 31st, at 2:30 pm. Parts of the costume that can be safely worn, and allow students to engage in learning, participate in recess/PE, and use the restroom, may be worn to school in the morning. Other costume attachments and accessories, or costumes that cannot be easily and comfortably worn throughout the day, should be brought in a bag and students may change prior to the parade. Please be mindful of appropriate and safe costumes, and note that toy guns, knives, weapons, etc., are not permitted. Parents are asked not to wear costumes or masks that conceal their faces. Please allow plenty of time to park safely and arrive in time for the event. If you are a parent that is volunteering during a class event, please be sure to sign in at the front office and wear a badge when in the building. We hope you can join us for this fun tradition here at Lincoln School.

Next Thursday, we welcome esteemed author Kate Klise to Lincoln School for our annual “Author Day!” Please click here for the flyer regarding dress up attire for Author Day. Thank you to Mrs. Husstege and our PTO for planning and supporting this special day.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,

Patrick Lee
Principal
