Dear Lincoln School Community,
October is in full swing here at Lincoln as we see the leaves changing color and falling, the temperature starting to drop, and the school community adjusting to the 2023-2024 school year. October also means, of course, that the Fall Festival is just around the corner! We welcome students and families to join us on the Lincoln School fields right after school next Friday for the Festival, and enjoy games, a petting zoo, activities, pumpkin raffles, seasonal snacks, and more. Thank you to our amazing PTO for planning what should be a terrific afternoon. Please note that all students must be accompanied by a parent or other adult. We hope to see you there!
Thank you to Officer Powderleyl from the Wyckoff Police Department for visiting Lincoln School this past week to interact with our students at recess, as part of the NJ Violence and Vandalism Awareness Week. We truly value and appreciate our public servants in Wyckoff, and thank them for keeping our community safe.
On Tuesday, October 24th, the Student Council requests that everyone wear pink in some way, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So, please let’s be “ALL IN” for this very important cause. Thank you to our Student Council for their work on behalf of our school community.
The school photographer needed to reschedule the photo retake date from Wednesday, October 25th to Thursday, October 26th. Photo retakes will take place at 10:30 am. The photographer will retake pictures of those students who were absent, who are new to the district, whose eyes were closed or who had hair in their face for the photograph, or for those parents who personally contacted the photographer requesting a retake. Please email Mrs. DiMeglio at mdimeglio@wyckoffschools.org if your child will be taking a retake picture.
Our Halloween parade will be held on Tuesday, October 31st, at 2:30 pm. Parts of the costume that can be safely worn, and allow students to engage in learning, participate in recess/PE, and use the restroom, may be worn to school in the morning. Other costume attachments and accessories, or costumes that cannot be easily and comfortably worn throughout the day, should be brought in a bag and students may change prior to the parade. Please be mindful of appropriate and safe costumes, and note that toy guns, knives, weapons, etc., are not permitted. We hope you can join us for this fun tradition here at Lincoln School!
For planning purposes, our Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on November 6th and 13th. The conferences will run from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on November 6th, and 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm on November 13th. Teachers emailed an electronic signup form this afternoon; if you have not received the electronic signup form, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher.
